The Art of Letting Go & Letting God

“Things that are not at all, are never lost.” -Christopher Marlowe

“Oh, my friend, it’s not what they take away from you that counts. It’s what you do with what you have left.” -Hubert H. Humphrey

Heavy is the head who wears the crown, thank God it is not me.
Why then do my emotions seem to hold me down, and my heart hurt badly?

Only a few people stay, so many people leave.
It has become just another game to play, another lie I will believe.

God this is Your plan, this life I try to love.
Help me to stop thinking some man can provide what comes from above.
When I forget this truth, Lord when I fall,
The pain itself reminds me why I
give You my all.

He was despised and rejected –
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on him and looked the other way
He was despised, and we did not care.
Yet it was our weaknesses he carried it was our sorrows that weighed him down.
And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God,
a punishment for his own sins!
(Isaiah 53:3-4)

When the pressure is too much, when the world is bitter and cold,
When the others turn their backs,
Lord give me Your hand to hold.

Time means nothing to You, yet we are always staring at the clock.
You are waiting on our prayers when in trouble, but we call something else our rock.

Every day is a challenge, but to live is an art.
We need to remember that we do not run the show, we only play our part.

To let go of the things that hurt and to let God take control,
That is when we will be able to climb our way out of this hole.

We can’t carry all the heartbreaks, we can’t hold all of our tears.
God however is teaching us through these things, He has been teaching me for years.

But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper,
whose hope is in the Lord their God.
He made heaven and earth the sea, and everything in them.
He keeps every promise forever.
He gives justice to the oppressed
and food to the hungry
The Lord frees the prisoners
(Psalm 146:5-146:7)

Do not drown in your circumstances of get buried in the bitter.
It is every time that we let go and let God that we get a little better.

You are strong enough, He is there when you can’t take it.
By believing in yourself and by resting in Him, my friends that’s how you will make it!
Don’t let the pain of now define who you are later.
Don’t let lies consume your heart,
The devil is a hater.

The Serpent And The Sparrow

“Confront the dark parts of yourself, and work to banish them with illumination and forgiveness. Your willingness to wrestle with your demons will cause your angels to sing. Use the pain as fuel, as a reminder of your strength.” -August Wilson

There is something in the way we move, there is something that keeps us moving.
Shadows are cast where we block the light, shadows are the reason the doers are no longer doing.
Darkness makes it’s way through towns of amber, darkness floods our streets.
Nightmares are finding their way into daylight, nightmares have escaped the sheets.
Some people remain sleeping, some people will not wake.
God looks on in disappointment, God wonders just what it will take.
Saints are marching boldly, the saints go marching in.
The angels also take their stance, the angels play to win.

“A cure for War? Furiously spending the same daily amount of money toward making friends. Being an indispensable source of food, shelter, peace, and cultural support dedicatedly spending 9 billion dollars a month on helping people would be a formidable enemy of evil.” -Vanna Bonta

A sparrow sits unaware of the danger, a sparrow is in the way.
The serpent slides up right behind behind it, the serpent eyes it’s prey.
So tragic the scenario, so tragic and yet so true.
The serpent slides up right behind us, the sparrow is me and you.
Up on our fences we are so content, on our fences everything is fine.
The war wages violently from below all the while, the war has been happening the entire time.
It seems so hopeless this battle, it seems it will never end.
The truth clears the way of the wreckage, the truth is our only friend.

Our Savior is our armor, our Savior is our shield.
The demons stand no chance in His presence, by the sound of His name they must yield.

It takes wisdom to learn the narrow way, it takes wisdom to be led in.
The world had fooled so many by books and paper, the world we are dying in.

It’s a terrible road and I’m walking with spiders, it’s a terrible road and I’m walking in.
It takes an ocean not to break, it takes an ocean to doust the fire we burn in.
So arrogant are the ones who look on from a far, so arrogant is man.
Meanwhile God is patiently hoping we will trust in Him and His plan.

The Word of God fills the battlefield, the Word of God shakes the sleeping ones wide awake.
Salvation is at hand, salvation is near for those who partake.
Rise up against the enemy, rise up when God calls your name.
For the victory will be His regardless, with or without you He will win.
Choose your battles wisely, choose your battles well.
As for me I choose team Jesus, as for me I choose humility over hell.

Only fools say in their hearts,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and their actions are evil;
not one of them does good!

God looks down from God looks down from
heaven on the entire human race; he looks to see if anyone is truly wise,
if anyone seeks God.

(Psalm 53:1 – 53:2 NLT)

“Adaptability is not imitation. It means power of resistance and assimilation.” -Mahatma Gandhi

Dear God,

The pain of the world is causing my pain.
The attacks of the enemy are making people act insane.
I do not regret the cause of my scars.
For the ways that you have trained me.
They are such a small price to pay considering You actually spared me.
Your hands are a reminder and your feet once tired like mine.
A body can easily be broken, but the spirit does not fear time.
We are beat up,we are fed up, we are caught up, we’re flawed.
Yet you stay right beside us, You guide us, You even beg to be our God.

The Sovereign Lord is my strength!
He makes me as surefooted as a deer,
able to tread upon the heights
(Habakkuk 3:19)

When I was caged in the darkness, when hope was far away and when the light seemed uninterested.
You reached for me, took hold of me and then Your plan manifested.

“The absence of flaw in beauty is itself a flaw.” -Havelock Ellis

We act like children on a ferris wheel, around and around we go.
We like to lose ourselves to the world so quickly, but when it comes to walking with You we’ve never been so slow! !
Addicted, conflicted, almost admitted, I have always been flawed.
Yet You pick up my heart everytime I seem to drop it to show me You’re still my God.

20130812-061352.jpg

You are so much more than we can know and most of us are afraid.
That despite the sacrifice You made for our sake, the promise never was made.

20130812-054839.jpg

Father forgive us, some of us know just what we do.
Some of us would rather die slowly instead of live for You.
The enemy waits in the shadows and preys on the unarmed.
He drowns the naive in his rivers of nonsense and most do not even realize they are being harmed.
Jesus, I am selfish, self absorbed, and can never find my phone.
I may be jaded, but with You I am never alone.

20130812-054007.jpg

You say I am a beautiful disaster, that we all are, and we were born to be flawed.
Why can’t we humble ourselves and realize You alone are God?

The enemy is a faker, but if he keeps fooling Your people, the joke is our eternity.
Please give me the strength to be the woman You need me to be.
To be a lamp,a hope, and the proof that although we are flawed,
That You will forever love us, eternally fight for us, and that there is a reason why You alone are our God.

Spiritual Eclipse: One Foot In The World

light-vs-dark

There is a light that lives peacefully in a town of darkness. A candle that burns happily in it’s own company while surrounded by show stoppers and candle wax wickedness. The flame of our spirit continues to fiercely flicker, not a bit intimidated by the uncertainty the darkness brings.

mywy

Each of us has a very rich nature and can look at things objectively, from a distance, and at the same time can have something more personal to say about them. I am trying to look at the world, and at myself, from many different points of view. I think many poets have this duality.
Wislawa Szymborska

While love kindles the fire of our spirit, God tirelessly protects it from burning itself out and from the winds of change always trying to catch it off guard. The light respects the need for it’s drab counter part, but the dark grows increasingly irritated by the sparkle constantly in it’s eye. Eventually it devises a plan to smother the spirit resulting in what I call a spiritual eclipse.

Jesus continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You belong to this world; I do not. That is why I said that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I AM who I claim to be, you will die in your sins.” “Who are you?” they demanded.
Jesus replied, “The one I have always claimed to be.” -John 8:23-25(NLT)

Duality. I think of it more as complexity. Some say it is a dilemma, but in reality it is war. For everything that is there must also be that which is not. Light and dark, good and evil, faith and fear, God and the enemy. It is impossible to have one without the other and as children of God living in the world, we are prime hosts to internally feed conflict and confusion.

20130224-132532.jpg

For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. – 2 Cor. 4:6(NLT)

Duality_of_life_by_RavenDarke

We must realize the light burning inside each of us is that of the spirit of God! There is nothing which can separate us from His protection or warmth of His love. We are all created to face the same challenge which is duality of self and spirit. We all have to try our hardest to burn brightly and confidently in spirit during constant worldly blackouts masked as trial. I can personally tell you the struggle to see in the pitch black of being unemployed is exhausting. If I simply allow God to work instead of always trying to figure things out, I would be led by His light instead of fumbling in necessarily over every obstacle the enemy places in my path to prosperity. The blockages to my blessings are my own reactions to trial and fear. To believe is to receive and it is not possible to believe God and live in fear of the enemy at the same time. We usually sabatoge our prosperity simply because we waste time trying to understands with our finite minds what God only could manifest.

For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.
Audrey Hepburn

So many of us want to progress, but refuse to change moving forward. That is not how it works. We must be looking confidently ahead and be willing to surrender all fear and whatever else we are asked to by God to leave behind in order to walk into His will for us.

20130224-132430.jpg

God is the same today, tomorrow, and always despite our constant changing. He will always light our way as long as we do not block His plans out with our own. We remain in the shadow of a self created spiritual eclipse.

The enemy will use every trouble you can imagine to make you forget the peace that God has already given to you with Jesus. Get behind the light and in front of your destiny which God has promised. Embrace what you go through and who you are for the Kingdom. Believe Him when He tells you He loves you in life and In death. You are forever protects and do not have a need to fear.

Allow the shadows to shade you , but never allow them to fade you. Be brave, be blessed, burn bright!

Fake Friends Leave Real Scars

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Once again, I have just recently been betrayed by a close friend of mine. To say I am surprised would be a lie, but to say I am disappointed would be an understatement.
I hate the sequence of events that proceed betrayal by anyone, let alone someone considered to be a person close to you or someone you once confided in. The ache in the pit of your stomach from the initial blow of the let down, the pulsating of your temple as you try to ponder why this is happenening, and the pacing back and forth across an empty room in attempts to maintain your composure.
Lessons are very painful in life, but personally this one hits harder than most. I am very familiar with fake friends and the very real heartache that comes each time their true nature is revealed.

Sorrow is better than laughter,

For by a sad countenance the heart is made better (Ecclesiastes 7:3 NKJV)

I know the pain that accompanies the betrayal of a false friend is a sting not like many others. I also know the relief of the removal of such a person from your life is just as great. Sometimes we are unaware of the wolves in sheeps clothing that have crept into our houses. We are left to wonder which is worse? A) That they were wolves from the start or B) We are just now figuring it out? Either way, it hurts.
I am getting better at acceptance and trusting there is a reason for the way things happen sometimes. We do not always understand why the temporal pain we feel may very well be for long term happiness. God, however, knows why every time and I can personally thank Him for removing certain people throughout my life I probably would have held on to ignorantly forever.
If someone has lied to you, hurt you or hindered your progress in life repeatedly, chances are they are wolves too. Forgiveness is necessary, but self sabotage is not. If you are involved with angry, jealous, or spiteful people posing as your friends yet acting more like your enemies, begin to take inventory of these types of people in your life and honestly start to remove them qccordingly. Pray for strength and follow through. Pray for each person as well as you bid them farewell.
Fake friends are a very real problem for us all. Not many can say they have not experienced one in their life at some point. Despite a few bad apples, the harvest of your relationships will prove to be pie worthy! Do not be bitter in the betrayal of these people, but allow the experience to make you a bit better each time! God bless you all.

Cosmic Love

When we think of the universe we become accountable to the knowledge that we are but mere specks in comparison to it’s size. We already know how huge it is.
Now think of God. He created that universe and regardless of your size, placed you purposefully in it. That is Cosmic love if ever displayed! Looking to people, things, and jobs to give us this kind of love leaves us in the dark every time. There is no way to get the light of God and it’s warmth on your face if you allow the shadows of this world to hide you from it.

The results are dark. We were never meant to follow the world so far that God cannot be seen or felt. We are to burn brightly like the Sun and are numbered like the stars to keep God’s presence illuminated here while we are waiting for His return.
Cosmic Love : Follow the light of your heart and remain lit amongst lamps that also burn with purpose. Fanned by the flame that sustains the light of all the Heavens. God is yours.

Hide and Seek

Humility- Defined

20120901-105525.jpg

Many Christians have what we might call a “cultural holiness”. They adapt to the character and behavior pattern of Christians around them. As the Christian culture around them is more or less holy, so these Christians are more or less holy. But God has not called us to be like those around us. He has called us to be like himself. Holiness is nothing less than conformity to the character of God. –Jerry Bridges

Where are we all going these days? What is happening to people? The trains we hop on to escape truth and conviction are at a halt deep in the desert of reality. There is no denying the condition we have put ourselves in as far as a united army against the enemy. The enemy, our own agreement with spoon fed defeat in any and everything, manifests in a display of hatred versus hope, pride versus humility, and destruction versus deliverance.

We are playing nothing more than a game of hide and seek during our days on this planet. Pre determined days, might I reiterate, ones that God has ALREADYintended for us to personally use in a purposeful and powerful way. There is no escaping truth. Either you seek hope, grace, a light load and peace, or you hide from accountability and a free hand of rest and resolution.
Imogen Heap brilliantly executed my point in one of my favorite songs of all time Hide and Seek. What she means with her lyrics I cannot say, nor do I pretend to imply, that they are about what I am speaking of. In any case, the point is made clearly by her words no matter how you choose to apply them on your own.

I imagine God would write similar lyrics about our state as a unit, as a team, as a species. Disappointed would best be my answer if asked how God feels about the way people are turning out to be collectively for their purpose.

If, as an army for peace and prosperity, we could all just stop hiding from the fact that we are all scared, we are all flawed and all sometimes living in a world of disappointment, then we could all seek God and a solution.

God loves each and every one on this earth. Yep, even the ones you judge or preferred to categorize as doomed just minutes ago. Hate to break it to those who have stood on God’s Word only to use it as a podium to preach their perversion of the truth, but God does not exclude anyone from His love. Regardless of interpretation or litigation, God does not look to people to dictate His love. He created us to demonstrate it and be fighters for it.

You cannot be faithful to a movement when you are following a parked car. Get behind He who looks to always move you by moving through you and before you. He wants to take the heat for you by leading you. Glean behind the reaper. Stop shoving opposition in front of omnipotence and then God will find you. You seek what you find. That’s not an opinion, it’s a reality.

All we are is dust. All we have is a place to fall and a shape to create collectively. I hope to be a part of a beautiful, natural disaster. Peace and encouragement as a team are the perfect storm! God is warning us to prepare for the impending events which cannot be out ran, out worked, out smarted. God is saying I love you. The blood and tears were here before you, In fact, they were shed by the Jesus because of you and His love for you! Now, the outcome of what you want to do with your chance at greatness is reliant on YOU. God will. He has, is, and always will deliver. The only thing this world and it’s embarrassing display of unity has, is, and will continue to do do is get worse if we don’t choose to seek God together.

Read the lyrics, cry, kick, scream, or toss this message in the trash if you like. I am never posting to dictate or debate. Why would I think God needed me to defend Him or beg anyone to be loved by Him? I’d be an idiot to put such a high label on myself or ability. God needs me to do one thing. I am to seek the hurting or hopeless, those who, like myself, have a world of crazy and only ounce left of optimism. To relate to people through telling my testimony and, by His Word, help hide the the illusion of defeat and illuminate the truth of DECREE. We are heirs to the kingdom of Heaven! It’s decreed! Stop hiding from your shadows. The light is what removes even the scariest of shapes that creep in the night. If its dawn you are after, quit staying out all night and falling asleep before the sun can rise. Trust me! It’s always darkest before the dawn. Grab a Starbucks and wait for it. You won’t want to sleep through another sunrise again once you have experienced God’s daybreak on your breakdown! Push to participate in what you already are enlisted in! God’s army against the dark! You win already! Why choose to lose? Don’t be shocked at disappointment when you seek it. Don’t be shocked at God’s love for you when you receive it!
