Give Me Your Eyes

I have been asked so many times recently the question “What is a Christian?” To me it is simple. A CHRISTian is a follower of Jesus Christ and His example. Christianity is not loud, cruel, narrow minded, or hateful. Christ was never any of those things. Capable, yes, He knew the same enemy that tries to keep us from God today. The difference is Christ did not allow anything to get in the way of His returning to His Father. He listened, and willingly followed God’s instructions to getting home. He paid the price because God said so. So we too could get home where we belong.
The following song lyrics have not only been on repeat in my head today, but also have been some of the most personal to me during my walk with Christ. They are able to sum up what i I am trying to explain. To be a Christian, to be Christ-like is to be an example. To show love to everyone. To promote peace and God’s love for all. Anything else is not necessary. God gave us the way. We are to follow Him.

Brandon Heath- Give Me Your Eyes

“Looked down from a broken sky
Traced out by the city lights
My world from a mile high
Best seat in the house tonight
Touched down on the cold black top
Hold on for the sudden stop
Breath in the familiar shock
Of confusion and chaos
All those people going somewhere,
Why have I never cared?
Chorus:
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
Ones that are far beyond my reach.
Give me your heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see
Yeah
Yeah
yeah
yeah

Step out on a busy street
See a girl and our eyes meet
Does her best to smile at me
To hide what’s underneath
There’s a man just to her right
Black suit and a bright red tie
Too ashamed to tell his wife
He’s out of work
He’s buying time
All those people going somewhere
Why have I never cared?
Chorus
Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
Ones that are far beyond my reach.
Give me your heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see
Yeah
Yeah
yeah
yeah

I’ve Been there a million times
A couple of million eyes
Just moving past me by
I swear I never thought that I was wrong
Well I want a second glance
So give me a second chance
To see the way you see the people all along

Chorus (x2)

Give me your eyes for just one second
Give me your eyes so I can see
Everything that I keep missing
Give me your love for humanity
Give me your arms for the broken hearted
Ones that are far beyond my reach.
Give me your heart for the ones forgotten
Give me your eyes so I can see
Yeah
Yeah
yeah”

Where Does My Help Come From?

My help comes from the Lord. The Maker of Heaven and Earth. Such a powerful sentence.
We all need to remember Who we are calling upon to deal with our troubles and deliver us in trials. We forget, I assume, that the Creator of the Universe is our team! Are we on His? That is most likely what keeps us from the abundant life He has already declared we will have. When will we be humble enough to receive it? When will our faith be strong enough to believe it? Only when you trust with all your heart will you ever get to see it!

Brightstar 2911 was derived from the very passage in the Bible where God declares His eternal and faithful love and promise of prosperity. Jeremiah 29:11 is beautiful, personal, and unbreakable! God has no need to lie, He cannot lie. He is the truth, and by standing firmly in His Word, we will manifest our own truth and unique plan for prosperity.

When life chips away at you, simply rely on He who provided it for you to begin with. He will clear the web the enemy weaves to keep you from your dreams.

Where does YOUR help come from? OUR help comes from the Lord, the Maker of Heaven and Earth! Be blessed, be loved, be who He made you to be!

But God made the earth by his power,

and he preserves it by his wisdom.

With his own understanding

he stretched out the heavens. When he speaks in the thunder,

the heavens roar with rain.

He causes the clouds to rise over the earth.

He sends the lightning with the rain

and releases the wind from his storehouses. The whole human race is foolish and has no knowledge!

The craftsmen are disgraced by the idols they make,

for their carefully shaped works are a fraud.

These idols have no breath or power. Idols are worthless; they are ridiculous lies!

On the day of reckoning they will all be destroyed. But the God of Israel is no idol!

He is the Creator of everything that exists,

including Israel, his own special possession.

The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is his name! (Jeremiah 10:12-16 NLT)

One For The Money

Click to understand what Money Really Is:

God makes, and apparel shapes: but it’s money that finishes the man.

– Thomas Fuller

One for the money, two for the show, three times now on your knees, it is a cruel world we are living in that we know.
Dollar bills, a passing thrill, the wind hits your face, down your spine a chill.
Far too familiar is the record on repeat. The track the enemy uses to seal one’s self defeat.
A penny for your thoughts, a nickel for your dreams, he has you in his pocket so it seems.
The cars aren’t fast enough, the house is empty.
The only one impressed anymore is yourself, and your worries are good and plenty.
Gambled away all your goodness while the band played on, one crooked path lies beneath what your paten leather treads along.
God is absent, but the rooms are full of stuff.
The Lord waits in the background wondering when He will ever just be enough.
This world counts on you like you count your change.
One by one we add up to nothing while our priorities are rearranged.
Never will you accumulate what faith pays out.
Never will you earn enough to buy what God freely hands out.
One for the money, two for the show, three times on your knees, where did your loyalty go?
Out the window the enemy convinced you to build, in the house he has you locked in up on the hill?
The higher you build to heaven, the longer the fall. Straight back to the foundation and the meaning of it all.
A penny for your thoughts, a nickel for your dreams, an empty soul that missed it’s call.
What exactly is your salvation worth when all your cash is spent?
Start buying into God’s plan for you and what He really meant.
When He promised you riches beyond understanding.
The private jet is not going where He plans on you landing.
One for the money, two for the show, three times on your knees, life is cruel, what will you have of yours to show?
