“Good days are to be gathered like grapes, to be trodden and bottled into wine and kept for age to sip at ease beside the fire. If the traveler has vintaged well, he need trouble to wander no longer; the ruby moments glow in his glass at will.” -Freya Stark
“Many people worry so much about managing their careers, but rarely spend half that much energy managing their LIVES. I want to make my life, not just my job, the best it can be. The rest will work itself out.” -Reese Witherspoon
As we go about our daily lives it is very important to remember that we are not the only ones who have to get up, get to work, manage our personal problems, keep up with our finances or care for our children.
Every single one of us walks out the front door in the morning into this very hard world, but not one of us does it for the same reason.
The heart is very fragile and we are all broken, but do we take the time regularly to acknowledge if others are hurting and if so, are we sharing the love of God with them?
We have no idea what the person next to us is at work is battling.
We assume that because someone is smiling, then they are happy.
The very harsh truth is that we are so narrow minded and self focused at times that we become insensitive and quite unusable to God.
We are supposed to be the light in the dark and the voice of hope to everyone, all the times. We cannot only extend our smiles and service to others when it’s convenient.
Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma (Ephesians 5:1 – 5:2 NKJV)
Don’t live in a glass house and throw stones. Don’t waste the gifts God has given you by keeping His wisdom to yourself.
Don’t break others down just because you may be up.
The impact of the first, very real encounter that Jesus has with someone who doesn’t know Him is beyond words. We should be more than happy to facilitate that for others.
We should not assume we know anything at all about one another.
God has really put it on my heart to press the importance of demonstrating kindness in your dealings with others (OF ALL WALKS OF LIFE)
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing (1 Corinthians 13:1 – 13:3 NKJV)
Do not take cheap shots at those you feel need The Lord. If that is how you feel then give them more of Him and less of you.
We all have a story. We all are In the middle of a spiritual war, and we all have been adopted in as God’s children because He chose us as His own in order to do great things here.
“Nature is the glass reflecting God, as by the sea reflected is the sun, too glorious to be gazed on in his sphere.” -Brigham Young
We are not here for the approval and acceptance of others. We are not what people say or think. We are God’s.
Be kind, be effective, be FOCUSED
Not on you, not on other people’s journey, but on God. Let others see what love looks like. Let God increase you and your interactions by being present.
People are cruel. Life is hard.
God has written it. He has seen it all and you are in the story for a very real, very amazing reason.
Let Him show you what He has for you by stepping out of the glass and onto the grass. Plant yourself in His Word and apply what you learn in your life. Watch Him move through you and let Him love you
